At the same time it s a tale that s wildly fun, creative, and irreverent, a project that will delight kids as well as help them.

SYNOPSIS: To the outside world, Chris Karas is a shy scholar, the son of a hard-working Greek contractor. But to his closest confidants he is the brilliant leader of the Pranksters, a secret society dedicated to combating the inequities of high school through illuminating acts of subterfuge. Yet with graduation looming ahead, Chris longs for more from life. He dreams of attending a top university and wooing Mariah Rivera, the beautiful Latina editor of the school paper. Standing in his way are the expectations of his fellow Pranksters, Mariah s all-world boyfriend, Chris s old-world father (who can t understand his son s ambitions), and the nefarious school Dean. Guided by the homespun wisdom of his charmingly eccentric Uncle Nick, Chris embarks on a challenging path of self-discovery, fraught with laughter as well as peril. In the end, he faces the most difficult decision of his young life: continue being a Prankster, sell out, or do something far more daring step up and be himself.

KEY PLAYER: Written and to be directed by Tony Vidal, Masters graduate of USC Cinema and former head story analyst for Orion Pictures and The Ladd Company. Tony has also served as head of the UC Davis screenwriting program and Senior Writer & Director for Playback Media. Frank Simeone to line produce, Mike Kitchens to be Production Manager.

STRATEGY FOR SUCCESS: Write a great script with universal appeal; create dynamite roles for young up-and-comers and juicy smaller parts for available feature name actors; source private equity to fund the film ($2.5 milion); raise additional capital ($2.7 million) to fund distribution; make an astounding completed movie. Could this be a project for you?
