The Impossible Railroad

Running Time: Approx. 56:46 minutes

Format project was originally shot in: Digibeta

Synopsis:
The San Diego & Arizona was the last U.S. transcontinental railroad link, completed in 1919. This is the story of the building of that railroad, through some of the most hostile terrain in the American West. It documents the struggle of its builder, John D. Spreckels, who saw the project completed through natural and man-made disasters; floods, revolution, world war, and financial set-backs. Though it only covered 140 miles, it took 13 years and millions of dollars to complete. See why they called it "The Impossible Railroad".
