Synopsis:
Namrata (our blood) is an independent documentary that focuses in on the daily life of a reformed convicted murderer and drug addict, Chris, who is a counselor at India's only HIV/AIDS hospice.
Chris, the Indian equivalent of Sean Penn, takes the viewer in and out of the events and experiences of an abandoned HIV+ baby, and HIV+ family, and his new friend and co-staff member, James, aslo HIV+.
The film reveals the inspiring, sad, and often funny ways both Chris, James, and their patients search for redemption and dignity as they bond together in this small, exiled community.
The Academy Award nominated actress, Marianne Jean-Baptiste (SECRETS AND LIES), has agreed to narrate the film.
