Success Stories

Henry Jaglom, who has directed eleven films, including Someone To Love, New Year’s Day, Always, Eating, Venice/Venice, Babyfever and Last Summer In The Hamptons, has been called, “the compassionate chronicler of romantic angst, the definitive independent filmmaker” (Kevin Thomas, LOS ANGELES TIMES).

When asked what advice he would offer emerging independent filmmakers, Henry said:

  1. Stay focused and true to your vision. You are the one who has to believe in yourself the most - sometimes when no one else does.

  2. Know what you’re doing, or do what you know. If you work from your own well of life experiences you’re already light years ahead.

  3. Be patient and persistent. If being patient doesn’t work, just be persistent. If persistence doesn’t work, shout until you get heard.

  4. Don’t follow trends. If you’re making a movie just because you “think” it will sell, then it probably won’t. Make the film you want to see, for yourself and no one else.

  5. GO FOR IT. You’ll never make a film by dreaming. Don’t let anyone tell you can’t do it. They can’t do it. You can!!
